Acura Nexera Vision Concept Previews the Next-Generation RDX Hybrid

Acura has unveiled the Nexera Vision, a sharp two-seat sports car concept celebrating the brand’s 40th anniversary at Monterey Car Week. While the concept is not planned for production, it previews a new Acura design direction that will influence future models, beginning with the next-generation RDX Hybrid SUV.

New Acura Design Language

The Nexera Vision features an aggressive stance, a long hood and a low, sharp nose. Its body is finished in Matte Titanium, emphasizing the clean surfaces and long dash-to-axle proportions.

One of the concept’s most distinctive features is Acura’s new phantom lighting signature. The V-shaped LED headlights and taillights remain hidden until activated and are inspired by the Acura emblem. The new lighting design will reach production vehicles soon, starting with the next-generation RDX Hybrid.

The exterior also features large dual-hinge butterfly doors, an aerodynamic greenhouse, air channels integrated into the nose, an active rear spoiler and a forged carbon bodykit. Six-spoke 22-inch center-lock wheels use a three-dimensional directional design and feature forged carbon inserts paired with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

Futuristic Interior

The cabin has been designed around a futuristic, minimalist and sustainable theme. Instead of relying heavily on screens, Acura uses a curved digital instrument cluster positioned behind a yoke-shaped steering wheel.

The fixed bucket seats are mounted directly to the floor to achieve a very low seating position. Instead of moving the seats, the driver adjusts the steering wheel and pedal box.

The interior combines black and white surfaces with pink accents. Materials include CircuLeather upholstery, Alcantara made from post-consumer recycled polyester, recycled aluminum and forged carbon details.

Electric Powertrain Hinted

Acura has not disclosed the powertrain specifications of the Nexera Vision. However, the concept’s packaging suggests that it could use a fully electric powertrain.

The concept was developed at Acura Design California in Los Angeles under the direction of Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design. Tsuchida said the new design direction aims to define Acura performance through disciplined proportions, sculpted forms and the integration of advanced technology.

Public Debut

The Acura Nexera Vision makes its public debut at The Quail on August 14 before appearing at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Concept Lawn on August 16.

Acura has not announced plans to turn the Nexera Vision into a production car, but the company confirmed that elements of its exterior and interior design will appear on future Acura products.
