  • Novosibirsk State Academic Opera & Ballet Theatre
    A monumental cultural icon and the largest theatre building in Russia, often called the “Siberian Coliseum.” Performances and its ornate architecture are a highlight. 

  • Alexander Nevsky Cathedral
    One of Novosibirsk’s first stone buildings, built in neo-Byzantine style in 1898, recognized for its golden domes and peaceful sanctuary. 

  • Novosibirsk Zoo
    Sprawling over 60 ha and home to over 11,000 animals (including snow leopards, Siberian tigers, and even ligers!). A conservation-focused and family-friendly experience.

  • Novosibirsk Planetarium & Observatory

    A serene pine forest park with boating, skating, sledding (winter), and adventure trails. Nearby, take a scenic summer cruise or admire the Bugrinsky Bridge—the metro over Ob—world’s longest metro bridge.

  • Architech-walk: Lenin Square & Metro Bridge
    Lenin Square anchors cultural life with grand architecture surrounding the Opera House, while the metro line crossing the Ob is the world’s longest.

  • Best Time to Visit: May–September offers mild, pleasant weather. Winters can be extremely cold—opt for winter festivals and park skating if prepared.

  • Getting Around: The Novosibirsk Metro (13 stations, 2 lines, opened in 1986) includes the spectacular over-water metro bridge—the longest in the world. Trams, buses, and river cruises add variety.
