Barletta is a historic Adriatic city in the Puglia region and one of the three capitals of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province, with a rich past dating back to Roman and Norman times. Known for the legendary Disfida di Barletta (1503 knightly duel), it features majestic monuments, seaside charm, and art collections—especially the Pinacoteca operated in the Palazzo della Marra

1. Castello Svevo (Swabian Castle)

2. Colossus of Barletta

One of Barletta’s most iconic landmarks: a 5 m bronze statue of a Roman emperor (often identified as Heraclius or Theodosius I), standing outdoors—the only intact ancient bronze of its size still in its original setting .

3. Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore
