Apia is the capital and largest city of Samoa, located on the northern coast of Upolu Island in the Tuamasaga district. It is the political, economic, and cultural heart of the country, with an urban population nearing 36,000–42,000 as of 2021. Founded in the 1850s, Apia officially became the capital in 1959 . It blends colonial-era landmarks, seaside charm, and traditional Samoan hospitality.
