Fire Temporarily Shutters Ambassadors Clubhouse in NoMad

Fire Temporarily Closes Ambassadors Clubhouse in NoMad
A fire broke out early Thursday, August 13, at Ambassadors Clubhouse, the high-end Indian restaurant located at 1245 Broadway at West 31st Street in NoMad, Manhattan.
The fire occurred while the restaurant was closed, and no injuries were reported. A restaurant representative said the venue would remain closed until the team determines that it is safe to reopen.
Fire Draws Major Emergency Response
The New York City Fire Department classified the incident as an “all-hands” fire, prompting a response involving at least four engine companies.
Videos showing smoke emerging from the building and flames around the restaurant entrance circulated following the incident.
The fire also affected customers with upcoming reservations. According to the report, at least one reservation scheduled for Friday, August 14, was canceled.
Ambassadors Clubhouse in NoMad
Ambassadors Clubhouse opened in New York in February 2026 as the Manhattan outpost of the London-based JKS Restaurants group.
The nearly 8,000-square-foot restaurant occupies two floors at 1245 Broadway, in the same building as film company A24's New York headquarters. The restaurant focuses on Punjabi-inspired Indian cuisine under executive chef Karan Mittal.
The restaurant's menu includes papads and chaats, chutneys, kebabs, biryani, matka and karahi dishes, while its interiors were designed to evoke the atmosphere of an Indian family home and historic party mansions.
Restaurant Remains Temporarily Closed
Ambassadors Clubhouse has not announced a reopening date following the fire. The restaurant said it will remain closed until it can safely resume operations.
