“Creatures of Myth and Imagination” Exhibition at The Met Cloisters

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is presenting “Creatures of Myth and Imagination: Europe and the Americas” at The Met Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan, bringing together artworks that explore mythical creatures and imaginative beings across European and American artistic traditions.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from May 18 through October 18, 2026, at 99 Margaret Corbin Drive in Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan.

Mythical Creatures Across European and American Art

The exhibition examines how artists have depicted creatures drawn from mythology, folklore and imagination, highlighting the ways these figures have appeared across different artistic traditions.

The presentation offers visitors an opportunity to explore representations of fantastical beings while examining their role in art and cultural storytelling.

Exhibition at The Met Cloisters

The exhibition is being presented at The Met Cloisters, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s museum and garden complex in northern Manhattan dedicated to the art and architecture of medieval Europe.

The exhibition remains on view through October 18, 2026, giving visitors several months to experience the presentation as part of a visit to Fort Tryon Park and The Met Cloisters.
