One of the park's most enchanting features is the flying Papantla performers known as Voladores de Papantla. Four of the five participants launch themselves from the top of a 30 meter (98ft.) pole, while the fifth remains up top and plays a flute and drum. This ritual is believed to have been created centuries ago to ask the gods to end a severe drought in Mexico's Papantla, Veracruz area.
